Campus di Dogpatch
La Scuola International School’s Dogpatch campus houses our vibrant and engaging San Francisco preschool. Designed by world-renowned architect Michele Zini of ZPZ Partners — recognized globally for his Reggio Emilia Approach schools and ateliers — this campus consists of a sheltered set of buildings and green spaces.
Color, texture, light, movement, beauty, and joy.
Located on the corner of 20th and Tennessee Streets, our Dogpatch campus was La Scuola’s first and it remains the only authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program preschool in San Francisco. Designed to activate young minds with an intentionally built, beautiful environment, each campus space offers its own distinctive call to joy and learning.
Our Dogpatch campus includes art, music, and garden ateliers. Meals are delivered hot from the oven.

Welcome from Mallory, Our Director of Preschool Campus Operations & Auxiliary Programs
Welcome to La Scuola’s PreK at the Dogpatch! I’m so glad you’re here.
Starting preschool is an exciting milestone, and I know it often comes with plenty of questions. My hope is that from your very first interaction with La Scuola, you’ll feel welcomed, supported, and confident that your child is part of a community where they will be known, celebrated, and cared for. When questions come up along the way, I’m always happy to help or connect you with the right person.
As the Director of Operations & Preschool Auxiliary Programs, I have the privilege of creating many of the experiences that happen beyond the classroom — from summer camp and after-school enrichment to family events and the day-to-day operations that help our school run smoothly. On any given day, you might find me welcoming families at morning drop-off, collaborating with our team in planning a special event, or helping track down a well-loved stuffed animal or missing nap mat. Those moments — big and small — remind me that being there for our children and families is at the heart of everything we do.
Thank you for trusting us with this important chapter in your child’s life. I look forward to getting to know your family and helping make your experience at La Scuola a wonderful one.
A presto,
Mallory Matthews
Director of Preschool Campus Operations & Auxiliary Programs
“If we want to have critical thinkers that go through life inquiring and being curious, they need to have love and safety. That's one of the key things that La Scuola has given our children. I cannot imagine them anywhere else.”
